Trout Headwaters, Inc. is the industry leader in sustainable approaches to stream, river, and wetland renewal and repair.  As one of the oldest firms in the industry we’ve pioneered approaches using natural materials and native vegetation that can reliably replace hard, invasive treatments that  often damage our streams and rivers.  Besides developing and refining new techniques we are staunch advocates for greater sharing of information and more consistent use of assessment and monitoring tools, so we can be sure that the work we do actually benefits the environment.

First Do No Harm
Our motto is, “First, do no harm,” and we encourage everyone working in and around our precious water resources to adopt the same philosophy.  Our project approach is to first identify and adddress disturbances and management practices that damage our streams and rivers, and then gently give nature a boost to return our freshwater resources to their former productivity.
